Iced coffee is one of my favorite beverages to drink in the summertime. A hot cup of coffee can be great, but on a hot and sunny day, I prefer something cold and refreshing.

Nutella has made its way into just about every dessert you can think of, so why not give it a shot in a cold beverage? This 4-ingredient Nutella iced coffee is the perfect way to kick back on a hot day.

This recipe is slightly sweet and can definitely be used as a dessert, but it’s also light enough that it works well as a drink for breakfast.

What is a Nutella iced coffee?

Nutella iced coffee is a concoction that uses Nutella, freshly brewed espresso shots, a splash of milk, whipped cream, and a good amount of ice cubes for that refreshing iced touch.

The coffee tastes slightly sweet because of the added Nutella and has a pleasant nutty taste to it. The flavors combine perfectly and make the Nutella flavor stand out. The espresso coffee makes for such a nice basis; it’s great.

The recipe is super easy to make, and I’ve brought the ingredient list back to just four ingredients. This way, it’s quick to make, which is just perfect when you need a chocolatey caffeine boost.

What ingredients are in a Nutella iced coffee?

You can make this iced coffee in so many different ways, using a lot of other ingredients. For this easy-to-make recipe, however, you’ll need the following elements:

  • Nutella
  • Two espresso shots or freshly brewed coffee
  • Whole milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Ice cubes
All ingredients used to make a Nutella iced coffee at home.

As this recipe uses just these ingredients, it’s important to use good quality products.

I’ve chosen to use whole milk to top this drink to give it a nice full flavor. If you’re not a fan of whole milk, you can use lower-fat milk or a dairy-free alternative.

The great thing about this recipe is that you can make it however you want; you can switch around the ingredients and make it Your Dream Coffee.

Let me tell you a bit more about the coffee used in this recipe down below, as this is a crucial step to make this coffee the best you can:

What coffee is best used in this recipe?

To make this iced coffee into a success, it’s best to use strong espresso coffee, or you can use a French press to brew strongly brewed coffee.

I really like to use two espresso shots for this recipe. This is the exact amount of coffee for this recipe. Also, espresso coffee has such a unique and robust flavor that it pairs perfectly with the nutty flavor of the Nutella.

However, if you’re not such a big fan of strong-tasting coffee, you can use a French press to brew a nice batch of coffee instead.

You can also use a pour over brewer like a Chemex or Hario V60 for this. These coffee brewers produce a very tasty coffee that is less strong than espresso coffee but tastes just as delicious.

If you don’t have access to these coffee brewers, you can also use your Nespresso or Keurig machine to produce the coffee for you.

I do suggest choosing a strong-tasting coffee pod. As coffee plays a significant role in the flavoring of this iced drink, you want to taste a bit of coffee to achieve a nicely balanced flavor profile.

Tip: If you have coffee leftovers, you can make coffee ice cubes with them.

Nutella Iced Coffee

This easy Nutella iced coffee is a great start to any day, but works especially well on a hot summer day.

Prep Time 3 minutes
Additional Time 2 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (0.12 l) of whole milk
  • Two espresso shots or 2 oz (60 grams) of freshly brewed coffee
  • 2 tbsp (30 grams) of Nutella
  • Serving of whipped cream
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

Collect all the ingredients beforehand so you can quickly make this easy Nutella iced coffee:

  1. Brew the coffee of your choice. I used two espresso shots for this recipe.
  2. Let the coffee cool before using. You can cool it in the refrigerator or use ice cubes to cool it down completely.
  3. Now, in a glass of choice, combine the Nutella and whole milk. Give this a good stir until the Nutella has dissolved into the milk. Tip: You can slightly heat a bit of the milk so that the Nutella dissolves faster.
  4. Add ice cubes to the glass, so your drink is nice and icy. I used 8 ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour your cooled coffee on top of the Nutella milk.
  6. Then, top this all with a good serving of whipped cream.

You've just made one of the most delicious iced coffees at home!

Notes

I suggest stirring the drink before drinking it. This is so all the flavors will be well-mixed, and you'll have a very balanced icy drink waiting for you.

If you want the coffee to be a bit sweeter, you can add more Nutella or use less coffee.
