An iced cinnamon mocha latte is one of the easiest café-style cold coffee drinks you can make at home.

It's simple to make and uses everyday ingredients that can be found in most kitchens.

It's foolproof, delicious, and seriously refreshing.

Below, you'll find everything you need to make it. Plus, easy homemade cinnamon syrup and chocolate sauce.

Let’s begin!

What is an iced cinnamon mocha latte?

An iced cinnamon mocha latte is an iced espresso-and-milk drink flavored with cinnamon syrup and chocolate sauce, served over ice and optionally topped with cold foam or whipped cream

If you love drinking iced coffee when the weather heats up, you’ll love this iced coffee, based on the hot version.

What ingredients are needed to make this drink?

If you love iced coffee, this is a perfect warm-weather treat.

You only need a few ingredients to make it at home:

  • 2% fat milk (for cold foam)
  • Espresso coffee
  • Cinnamon syrup
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Ice cubes
All the ingredients that are needed to make an iced cinnamon mocha latte at home.

I love this recipe because you can make it at home without needing a special trip to the grocery store.

You can easily customize it based on what you have on hand.

For example, swap in a different milk (or a dairy-free alternative) based on your preference.

The low-fat milk is used to make cold foam, which adds texture to this drink.

You can make cold foam at home using five different techniques, which I describe in detail here.

Later in this guide, I've included homemade cinnamon syrup and chocolate sauce recipes if you want to make everything from scratch

How do you make the best espresso at home?

Espresso coffee is needed to make this into the best iced latte possible. You can make espresso coffee at home with different brewing techniques.

Have a look below for some great options:

  • You can brew great espresso-like coffee with a Moka pot or AeroPress.
  • Make some great espresso using an espresso machine.
  • Do you have a Nespresso or Keurig machine at home? Choose your favorite coffee pod to use in this recipe!

To make coffee bar espresso, it is best to use an espresso machine.

However, these coffee machines can be quite pricey, which is why I recommend using a Moka pot or AeroPress instead.

AeroPress and Moka pot, ready to use.

These small coffee brewers produce great-tasting espresso-like coffee, perfect for iced coffee drinks like these.

If you want to learn all about making coffee with these brewers, check out my beginner’s guide to brewing coffee.

These are my go-to methods for brewing strong coffee at home. If you don't have an espresso method, use extra-strong brewed coffee instead.

To ensure that the flavors are well-balanced, I suggest using medium– or dark-roasted coffee beans for brewing.

They will add a strong flavor to the coffee to balance out the sweetness of the sweeteners used in this iced cinnamon mocha latte.

You can check out my recommendation for the best coffee beans for a latte here.

You can also try double brewing your coffee to make it taste a bit stronger, which is great for iced coffees.

Iced drinks can taste diluted as the ice melts, so starting with stronger coffee helps keep the flavor bold.

Making a batch of coffee ice cubes works wonders as well. Coffee ice cubes are made by freezing brewed coffee into an ice cube bag or ice cube tray:

"Frozen coffee ice cubes, ready to be served."

Add coffee ice cubes to keep your drink cold without watering it down; each cube melts into more coffee as you sip.

Now that you know about all the options you have to make this drink however you like, let’s get into the recipes for the homemade add-ins you can make!

How do you make cinnamon syrup at home?

Cinnamon syrup is one of those coffee add-ins that pairs perfectly with any combination of flavors, which is why it complements the other flavors in this recipe beautifully.

You can make a quick homemade version with a simple brown sugar syrup infused with cinnamon.

It takes just five minutes to make a big batch of this coffee syrup, and it looks like this when finished:

An easy chocolate sauce recipe to try at home

Homemade chocolate sauce, like the cinnamon syrup, can be made at home in just five minutes, which is great because you’ll have some time left over to enjoy this drink thoroughly.

To make chocolate sauce at home, whisk sugar, cocoa powder, and water together over gentle heat until smooth.

You’ll get a nice, thick chocolate sauce that is perfect for these kinds of drinks.

Alternatively, you can choose to add a bit more water to the sauce if you want it to combine more easily. It looks like this when finished:

Chocolate sauce.

Yield: 1 Serving

Iced Cinnamon Mocha Latte

Iced cinnamon mocha latte, ready to drink.

Make this refreshing iced latte recipe for a perfectly sweetened start of the day!

Prep Time 3 minutes
Additional Time 2 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (0.18 l) of 2% fat milk
  • One espresso shot
  • 1 tbsp (15 grams) of chocolate sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 grams) of cinnamon syrup
  • A serving of whipped cream
  • Ice cubes or coffee ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Begin brewing the espresso shot with a technique of choice. I'm using an espresso machine today.
  2. After the espresso shot has brewed, cool it slightly. You can add an ice cube to the espresso to speed up the process.
  3. Meanwhile, cold foam the low-fat milk.
  4. Add the cinnamon syrup to a tall glass of choice.
  5. Now, slowly pour the cooled espresso shot into the glass.
  6. Add enough ice cubes to the glass to fill it to about halfway.
  7. Slowly add the cold foamed milk to the ice-filled glass.
  8. Finish the drink with a serving of whipped cream.
  9. Lastly, add the chocolate sauce to the whipped cream and serve.

Serve the coffee with a long spoon or a straw so you can stir all the ingredients together!

Notes

If you'd like to use brewed coffee instead of espresso, you can use the same amount.

Do you want to make this recipe in the early morning? Brew the espresso coffee beforehand and store it in the fridge overnight.

Conclusion

An iced cinnamon mocha latte gives you a café-style iced drink without the extra trip out!

You combine strong coffee, cinnamon syrup, and chocolate sauce, then finish it with cold foam, whipped cream, and plenty of ice.

The result is sweet, spiced, and packed with that classic mocha flavor.

For the best taste, brew your coffee a bit stronger than usual and consider using coffee ice cubes to keep the drink bold as you sip.

And if you make the cinnamon syrup and chocolate sauce from scratch, you'll have enough left for a few more iced drinks over the next few days!
