Making a cinnamon mocha latte is a very simple process. You only need a handful of ingredients to create a delicious, caffeine-filled drink in a matter of minutes.
Before you know it, your drink will be ready to enjoy! So, why not go ahead and try this delightful recipe?
What is a cinnamon mocha latte?
A cinnamon mocha latte is a coffee beverage with the flavors and ingredients of both a latte and hot cocoa. It’s like two drinks in one! It’s topped with a serving of whipped cream and cinnamon syrup!
If you love to drink lattes in the morning, then you’ll love this take on the classic latte. This recipe uses a few more ingredients to make it a bit more exciting so that you can switch things up in the morning.
Down below, you’ll find the recipes for homemade chocolate sauce and cinnamon syrup. And I’ll also talk about the best coffee to use before getting into the full recipe.
What ingredients are used to make this recipe?
You’ll need five ingredients to get started with this recipe. It’s so good; you may never buy one again in your favorite coffee shop. Have a look below for all the components used:
- Whole milk
- Espresso shot
- Cinnamon syrup
- Chocolate sauce
- Whipped cream
As you might’ve noticed, this recipe is based on the classic latte, which is why the same amount of milk and espresso coffee is used.
This is then sweetened with cinnamon syrup for that slightly spicy but sweet flavor.
The homemade chocolate sauce is the perfect addition to any cup of coffee, but in combination with the cinnamon syrup, whole milk, and the robust espresso coffee, it’s amazing.
Optionally, you can add some whipped cream to finish the drink. I recommend adding it because it gives the coffee some more depth and richness.
You can also switch out the whole milk for a lower-fat kind or use your favorite dairy-free alternative instead.
The great thing about dairy-free alternatives is that it changes the flavor of the whole drink, meaning you can drink a different flavored cinnamon mocha latte every day if you wish.

What is the best espresso to use?
To make a good latte as the basis for this drink, you’ll need good espresso coffee to go along with it.
Good espresso is made using freshly dark roasted coffee beans, good-tasting water, and an espresso machine.
Depending on your flavor preference, you can choose the coffee beans you like the most. I like to use dark roasted coffee beans for my espresso coffee, but you might think otherwise.
If you’re unsure about the best coffee beans to use, you can find my recommendations for the best coffee beans for lattes here.
After you’ve got those amazing coffee beans, you want to make sure that you grind them correctly, so they’ll give off all their delicious flavor.
A fine grind is used for espresso-making so that you can extract all coffee flavors in a short period of time.
You can check out this guide to coffee grind sizes, where I explain everything you need to know about the different grind sizes for coffee.
Now that you have the coffee beans and they’re ground properly, it’s time to brew the espresso coffee.
You can do so using an espresso machine, Moka pot, or AeroPress. An espresso machine is best used but can be quite expensive, which is where the other two coffee brewers come in.
The AeroPress and Moka pot make great-tasting espresso-like coffee and comes close to the flavor of an espresso produced with an espresso machine.
They’re not that expensive, and I highly recommend both of them, as I’ve been using them for some time now.

Over there, I’ll go over every step to get started with coffee, from start to finish!
How to make the cinnamon syrup at home?
One of the great sweeteners used in this recipe is cinnamon syrup. It’s made by combining equal parts of brown sugar and cold tap water and infusing this with cinnamon sticks.
It’s a great way to make any coffee syrup, and this recipe works so well with all the other flavors.
You can easily make a batch of this cinnamon syrup at home, and it’ll look like this when it’s finished:

How to make homemade chocolate sauce
Homemade chocolate sauce is one of the easiest sauces to make at home, using just three ingredients, just like the cinnamon syrup.
You can make this using equal parts white granulated sugar, cold tap water, and cocoa powder.
I like to make a big batch of it and store it in the fridge so that I can make a lot of these kinds of coffees in the coming week. It looks like this when finished:
