So, who is Your Dream Coffee?

Your Dream Coffee is an independent media publication dedicated to home brewing excellence.

I believe the best coffee isn’t made in a laboratory, but in a kitchen. That’s why every recipe, brewing guide, and equipment review on this site is developed and expert-tested in my own home kitchen using standard equipment.

I've done the trial and error, so you don't have to. I provide the real-world results you need to master the craft of coffee at home.

My commitment to authentic, hands-on testing has allowed Your Dream Coffee to become a trusted resource for enthusiasts worldwide, with our work featured in:

Our Journey: From Home Kitchen to Global Brand

  1. 2026

    The Launch of Droom Boon

    Now

We stopped just reviewing beans and started roasting them. In January we launched Droom Boon (Dutch for “Dream Bean”), our own specialty coffee brand.

Note: Droom Boon is our own brand. When we mention it where relevant, we label it clearly and keep those mentions separate from independent reviews and rankings.

    Mission
To bring the exact flavor profiles we preach on the blog to your cup.
    Status
Currently shipping in the Netherlands with international expansion on the roadmap.
Three bags of Droom Boon specialty coffee beans (Sulawesi, Brazil, Guatemala) displayed next to a V60 pour-over cone.
From Spreadsheet to Shelf: The final production run of our launch lineup. We moved from reviewing other people's beans to sourcing our own single-origins to control every variable of the flavor profile.
  2. 2025

    Field Work & Formal Standards

A transformative year where we moved from theory to practice.

The Barista Experiment: Jeffrey returned to the service industry, launching a weekly pop-up coffee stall to test what real customers actually enjoy versus what the internet says they enjoy.

The “Lab Standard”: We formally published our “Integrity & Trust” Editorial Policy, codifying the testing methods that now back every single guide on the site.

Jeffrey's pop-up coffee bar setup in The Netherlands, featuring a Sage espresso machine and Droom Boon coffee beans.
The "Field Test" Station: My Saturday pop-up setup. I deliberately use the same gear I review (like this Sage machine) to serve hundreds of customers, proving that technique matters more than industrial equipment.
  3. 2024

    The Strategic Pivot

As the internet became increasingly flooded with generic, automated content, we made a clear decision: don't cut corners.

We spent this year auditing our archives, expanding our hands-on testing protocols, and ensuring every guide remained rooted in real-world coffee experience rather than chasing viral trends.

  4. 2023

    The 1.8 Million Milestone

    1.8M

Your Dream Coffee reached its peak readership to date.

We helped over 1.8 million unique visitors brew better coffee in a single year, which validated our focus on detailed and actionable advice.

  5. 2022

    Crossing the Million Mark

    1M+

Just two years after launching, we passed 1 million annual readers and cemented our place as a primary resource for home baristas.

  6. 2021

    Reaching 500,000 Home Brewers

    500K

We reached 500,000 unique visitors by solving a specific problem.

While other sites posted generic definitions, we shared real troubleshooting steps and café-style recipes that home brewers could not find anywhere else.

  7. 2020

    Founded in Amsterdam

    Start

Jeffrey founded the site with a simple goal: bridge the gap between professional barista science and the reality of a home kitchen.

No lab equipment, just precision and passion.

Following your recipes I have enjoyed different versions of coffee and have stopped going to coffee shops and saved tons of money.”

- Harin Mehta Trustpilot 5 star review

“Jeffrey's suggestions are very practical and easy to follow. Before Jeffrey all I knew was instant coffee, now I started making my own coffee using a French press and hand grinder is on the way.

I always thought brewing coffee at home is a complex process, but Jeffrey made it really easy. Just follow Jeffrey's instructions and start making 'your own dream coffee.'”
