Choose dark or medium roasted coffee beans that you like the most for this recipe.
Finely grind your coffee beans. The grind size is finer than your regular cold brew coffee for more extraction.
Add the freshly ground coffee to your French press or large mug.
Add cold tap water to the coffee grounds and give it a quick stir. Let the espresso cold brew steep for 12 hours.
Press down on your French press to filter the coffee, or use a coffee filter and let the espresso cold brew run through it.
Slowly pour the espresso cold brew into a pre-rinsed coffee filter, like a Chemex or Hario V60 filter.
Keep adding the cold brew to the coffee filter until all the coffee is poured in.
Let the espresso cold brew filter. I found that this took 14 minutes, but it's totally worth the wait.
Serve the espresso cold brew in an ice-filled glass and optionally add a sweetener or a touch of dairy. Enjoy!
